Lotus Lantern Festival - Mohair

Destination Yarn

The Lotus Lantern Festival is a huge festival held every year in South Korea in honor and Celebration of Buddah's Birthday.  Thousands of lanterns are strung through the streets.  This colorway captures these rows of lanterns with rows of speckles.  This dye technique allows the yarn to knit up in the same fantastic way as our hand painted colorways only with a speckled style.

Part of the Seoul 2018 Collection available here!

Dye Technique:  Adventure (speckle dyed)
Dye is applied directly to the skein allowing for pops of intense color.  Colorways are repeatable but because of the way that the color is applied every skein is completely unique.  At Destination Yarn we call these our “Adventure” colorways because creating one is an adventure!

Base Yarn:
Cloud - lace weight
72% Kid Mohair 28% Silk - 459 yards per 50 gram skein.

Please note:  Pictures are of the same colorway dyed on a different base yarn.  Mohair takes the dye a bit differently - it fuzzes speckles out and colors are a tad more muted.
