For all of our hand dyed yarns we recommend that they are either washed by hand or machine washed cold, gentle cycle. Lay flat to dry.

Postcard is our standard, fingering weight, sock yarn and the most popular base that we dye!
This 75% Superwash Merino Wool / 25% nylon blend is both soft and strong. Put up in a smooth 4 ply with 460 yards per 100 gram skein. I love this base for almost anything! It is strong enough for socks and yet drapey and soft enough for sweaters.
With this much yardage per skein you can make fingerless mitts, hats, or a scarf - really just about anything!
Treat yourself to an upgrade! These our our most luxurious yarns and contain cashmere or silk. Devastatingly soft and perfectly drapey these bases will elevate your next project to the next level.
First Class Silk is my absolute favorite base that we carry at Destination Yarn! With a 20% silk content this fingering weight yarn is incredibly drapey and soft. It takes has a bit of a sheen to it from the silk and takes the dye beautifully (see picture).
First Class MCN is our luxurious, fingering weight blend of 80% superwash merino, 10% cashmere, and 10% Nylon. Spun up with 2 plies this yarn is both incredibly soft as well as strong. Perfect for next to the skin garments such as sweaters or shawls the twist will show off lace or cabled projects beautifully! With the nylon content this base is also appropriate for socks. Basically anything that you would use our Postcard base for but want to upgrade!
First Class Single is our upgraded single ply yarn option. With 30% silk it is the most luxurious base that we offer! The single ply makes it perfect for shawls and drapier garments.
Souvenir is our much loved and very popular DK Weight Yarn! Featuring 100% superwash merino with 231 yards per 100g skein this base yarn is perfect for everything from sweaters to shawls - even socks!
We also offer First Class DK - put up with the same twist as Souvenir it takes the dye in the same vibrant way. However, this base features cashmere for added softnes and luxury. It's an outstanding base if you would like an upgrade!
Finally in our DK Weight line Up we offer Silver Shiny DK. It takes the dye the same as Souvenir but adds in a silver stelinna sparkle that is just so fun!
Wardrobe Trunk is our bouncy, spoingy Bulky Weight. Made up of 100% superwash merino in a bouncy two ply construction this yarn takes the dye like a sponge. Colors are vibrant and speckles are well defined (pictured). I love this for quick or last minute projects!
Suitcase - Our worsted weight base that is made up of 100% superwash merino. We love this base because it is extremely soft and versatile! Perfect for quicker projects and warm enough for the coldest of weather.
