All yarns are dyed with professional acid dyes for wash fast results. We rinse all of our yarn until the water runs clear, however as with any hand dyed yarn it is a good idea to hand wash items separately the first time just to be safe. For additional care information please check the information on the yarn tag as specific instructions vary by base yarn.
All skeins of the same colorway are dyed together, but because they are dyed by hand no two skeins are exactly alike. Hand dyed yarn can vary between dye lots so please order enough to complete your project at one time. In addition, we recommend alternating skeins every two rows to minimize variations
Some skeins are re-skeined before selling. This is a process where the yarn is wound into a new skein in order to distribute the colors.
We do our best to accurately photograph all colors however there are variations between monitors and devices.
Don't see the colorway/base combination you were looking for? I’m always happy to discuss custom orders! Please be aware, however that my ability to take custom orders can depend on my current dye schedule and show obligations. For custom orders contact me and we can go from there!
Where is your yarn sourced from?
All of our base yarns are ethically sourced from museling-free farms. We work with several different mills that are all based in North America. Some of our bases are South American wool, others are British Merino. However all are of the highest quality – we only dye yarns that we would want to knit with ourselves!
Destination Yarn currently accepts all major credit cards via Stripe as well as Paypal for payments. We reserve the right to cancel any order, and will issue a refund if we do so. Sales tax is added for Ohio Residents.
All items will ship 3-5 business days after receiving payment unless otherwise noted (pre-orders, clubs, etc. have longer shipping times).
Domestic Items will be shipped First Class up to 13 ounces. Orders over 13 ounces will ship Priority Mail.

Once your package leaves the Destination Yarn Studio and enters the USPS system, we are no longer responsible loss or damage to it. I am happy to insure any packages for additional cost. In the rare event that a package is lost in the mail system we are happy to help investigate however please be advised that we have no more information, nor the ability to gather any more information than you do.
International Shipping Costs vary. International packages will be shipped via USPS First Class Mail. If you would prefer a different shipping method please contact us. When a package is shipped internationally, it may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, and/or fees. All of these are to be paid by the buyer. Please be advised that international shipping times can be extended and plan accordingly.
Can I pick up an online order at your studio?
As of right now we are unable to offer this service. It is in our plans for the future but we haven’t quite nailed down the logistics. Stay tuned!
If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason please contact us immediately. We want you to be happy with your purchase and will work with you within reason to resolve any issues. Our terms for a refund are as follows:
Yarn must be in original, sellable condition including the tag. It must not be wound into a ball (either by you or by us) and must not smell like anything other than yarn (smoke, pets, essential oils, etc.)
Yarn must be returned to our studio within one calendar month of purchase.
Custom orders, Club colorways, Sale Items, One of a kind colorways, and Pre-orders are NOT returnable or refundable.
Return shipping will not be refunded and is the sole responsibility of the buyer.
