Yarn Care and Information:
All yarns are dyed with professional acid dyes for wash fast results. We rinse all of our yarn until the water runs clear, however as with any hand dyed yarn it is a good idea to hand wash items separately the first time just to be safe. With darker colorways crocking may occur and is a natural part of hand dyed yarn.
All skeins of the same colorway are dyed together, but because they are dyed by hand no two skeins are exactly alike. Hand dyed yarn can vary between dye lots so please order enough to complete your project at one time. In addition, We recommend alternating skeins every two rows to minimize variations. This is best practice with all hand dyed yarn.
We do our best to accurately photograph all colors however there are variations between monitors, devices and lighting conditions.
Don't see the colorway/base combination you were looking for? I’m always happy to discuss custom orders! Please be aware, however that my ability to take custom orders can depend on my current dye schedule and show obligations. For custom orders contact me and we can go from there!
Where is your yarn sourced from?
All of our base yarns are ethically sourced from museling-free farms. We work with several different mills that are all based in North America. Some of our bases are South American wool, others are British Merino. However all are of the highest quality – we only dye yarns that we would want to knit with ourselves!
Destination Yarn currently accepts all major credit cards via Stripe as well as Paypal for payments. We reserve the right to cancel any order, and will issue a refund if we do so. Sales tax is added for Ohio Residents.
All items will ship within 7 business days after receiving payment unless otherwise noted (pre-orders, clubs, dyed to order listings, etc. have longer shipping times. Please see individual item listings).
Domestic Items will be shipped First Class up to 13 ounces. Orders over 13 ounces will ship Priority Mail.
If you are local to the Cleveland area I am happy to arrange local pick up. This may take an additional day for pick up depending on our current order shipment schedule.
Once your package leaves the Destination Yarn Studio and enters the USPS system, we are no longer responsible loss or damage to it. I am happy to insure any packages for additional cost. In the rare event that a package is lost in the mail system we are happy to help investigate however please be advised that we have no more information, nor the ability to gather any more information than you do.
International Shipping Costs vary. International packages will be shipped via USPS First Class Mail. If you would prefer a different shipping method please contact us. When a package is shipped internationally, it may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, and/or fees. All of these are to be paid by the buyer. Please be advised that international shipping times can be extended and plan accordingly.
We are unable to combine shipping on multiple orders.
If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason please contact us immediately. We want you to be happy with your purchase and will work with you within reason to resolve any issues. Our terms for a refund are as follows:
Yarn must be in original, sellable condition including the tag. It must not be wound into a ball (either by you or by us) and must not smell like anything other than yarn (smoke, pets, essential oils, etc.)
Yarn must be returned to our studio within 60 days of receipt.
Custom orders, Club colorways, Sale Items, One of a kind colorways, Pre-orders, and Gift Cards are NOT returnable or refundable.
Return shipping will not be refunded and is the sole responsibility of the buyer.
We reserve the right to revoke the ability to return products if the products are returned in unsellable condition or if the buyer is abusing our return policy. We reserve the right to make all future purchases final sale only.

In nearly 15 years of business we have never, ever been late in shipping a pre-order, curated box, or club shipment.

We have found over our many years in business that some of the most challenging situations arise when customers do not read the preorder time frames. We put this information in bold in both the item listings as well as the order confirmations, however sometimes it is still missed. Unfortunately, at that point the disconnect between the customer’s expectation and reality becomes too great for us to resolve in a positive way. Therefore we reserve the right to cancel any preorder at any time if a customer does not understand the stated shipping timeframe.

There will be times that our response is delayed due to weekends, holidays, and travel for shows, being buried in the dye pots, etc. If you don't hear back from us within a week please reach out again as we did not mean to ignore you!
