The first image that comes to mind of New Orleans is Mardi Gras. A colorful parade of feathers and beads. However there is much more to the city than that one festival. So I used the Mardi Gras colors (purple, gold, and green) as the base and then muted them with deep plums and olives – the influence of jazz and voodoo.
Laissez le bon temps roulez!
Dye Technique: Places (Hand Painted Yarn)
To create hand painted colorways we meticulously apply measured amounts of dye directly to the yarn in a specific sequence of colors. This creates very repeatable, very consistent colors. At Destination Yarn we call these colorways “Places” because like a place they are always the same!
Pairs With: New Orleans pairs perfectly with it's companion colorway "Mardi Gras" - a speckle dyed version of the same colors. Pictured together in the last image!
At Destination Yarn we carry the following DK Weight yarns. All of these base yarns are 5-6 Stitches = 1” on #5-7 needles, Machine wash cold, gentle cycle, lay flat to dry.
